These pages are devoted to the unsung heroes of the Age of Clockwork and Steam. Much has been written of the successful inventors of the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries but what of the ones who worked equally hard only to fail? Because there is nothing known of these unfortunates I’ve been able to write my own versions of their sorry tales without fear of contradiction.
